The Links at Sandpiper, previously named Sandpiper Golf & Country Club, is a Semi-Private 18 hole golf course located in Lakeland, Florida, about halfway between Tampa and Orlando.
Sandpiper Golf & Country Club first opened for play in 1987. The course was designed by Steven R. Smyers.
Sandpiper was sculpted in the links style, featuring rolling terrain and undulating greens. Four sets of tees serve to challenge players of any skill level. Almost 100 bunkers are in play here, particularly at #15, which features a bunker in the middle of the green. The course is lined with many pine, palm, and deciduous trees, and features water on the closing seven holes.
Sandpiper plays to a par-70 and maximum distance of 6,442. The course rating is 70.4 with a slope rating of 120.
The course came under new ownership in 2017. The new owner, Dave Tavlin immediately set in motion a renovation and upgrade program.
